And now equipped with 8-speed automatic transmission

Everyone’s dream van has just gotten a little bit better as Toyota Motor Philippines releases an updated version of the Alphard, which you can easily distinguish from the previous edition by the emblem that now adorns the humongous front grille.

The changes made to the Alphard aren’t merely skin-deep. The luxury van now boasts a more robust 3.5-liter V6 gasoline engine that produces 292hp and 361Nm—a sharp improvement from the previous 271hp and 340Nm. Also, the former six-speed automatic transmission has been replaced with an eight-speed automatic gearbox, and an engine start/stop system has been added. A digital rearview mirror that works in tandem with a camera makes maneuvering the bulky vehicle in tight spaces so much easier.

The new Alphard is available in three exterior colors: Luxury White Pearl, Raven Black and the new Steel Blonde Metallic. The price for this opulent transporter is P3,580,000 (plus P15,000 if you’re getting one in pearl white).

The Alphard remains the ultimate yardstick among luxury vans on our market. With the worsening traffic situation out there, the price tag may be a relatively small sum to pay for the kind of motoring comfort and indulgence this mobile lounge promises.
