If you’re looking for a people mover and a cargo hauler and somehow a midsize SUV is still not enough, don’t worry as the new Chevrolet Tahoe is now available locally. Named after the lake located between California and Nevada, this full-size SUV has made its way from North America to the Philippines.

With a length of 5,352mm, a width of 2,057mm, and a height of 1,928mm, the new Tahoe is much bigger and more spacious than the previous generation. The Z71 variant stands on 20-inch wheels, while the High Country variant gets 22-inch wheels.

A 5.3-liter V8 EcoTec engine powers this gas-guzzler, producing 355hp and 518Nm. This is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission for smooth power delivery. Meanwhile, the Magnetic Ride Control and the Adaptive Air Ride suspension take care of the ride comfort and quality.

For the infotainment, the Tahoe has a 10.2-inch Chevrolet MyLink system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The 15-inch heads-up display conveniently provides the driver with information. For both the second- and third-row seats, passengers get 12.6-inch LCD touchscreens. These can play content independently or screen-share with each other.

With an SUV this huge, you’ll need all the safety features you can get. The Tahoe has 360° Surround Vision, forward collision alert, front and rear pedestrian alert, and automatic emergency braking, so you don’t accidentally end up hitting people and objects around you.

For those of us without the budget, at least we can always enjoy a cup of taho.
