PIMS 2024: The Mitsubishi DST Concept proudly debuts in PH

A seven-seater SUV concept ‘designed for the ASEAN market’

It’s something to be proud of when a concept car makes a global debut on our shores. At this year’s Philippine International Motor Show, Mitsubishi Motors Corporation decided that we should be the very first people to witness the launch of the DST Concept.

The DST Concept is a seven-seater, three-row SUV that was designed for the ASEAN region, and more importantly, will be launched in said region in fiscal year 2025.

It uses a design concept that’s called “Gravitas and Dynamism,” but has features very similar to the Xforce.

It wears a Dynamic Shield 2.0 face with a grille that’s encased in a clear acrylic panel. There are “side blades” on the C-pillars, it has exaggerated fender flares, and the lighting signatures are very similar to the ones on the XFC Concept.

Some design cues that won’t obviously make it to the production vehicle are the mirror cameras and the panoramic glass roof, but there’s one thing for sure: It’s a big SUV.

The interior is a classy space for seven passengers, with a dominantly burgundy-and-white color scheme for the upholstery. The dashboard is wrapped in a soft material, alongside a panoramic housing that holds the two widescreen displays for the driver and the infotainment.

Being a concept car means that performance and any specifics are out of the window, but Mitsubishi did say that this is a monocoque (unibody) front-wheel-drive chassis SUV that has high ground clearance, alongside five different drive modes, including Wet, Tarmac, Normal, Gravel, and Mud.

Now, the question is: What do you think this concept will become?
