Nissan teases 4 cars for PIMS 2024

Here are our guesses

Nissan will be showing off a barrage of cars this coming PIMS. How exciting. PHOTO FROM NISSAN

Nissan Philippines has a barrage of cars to show off at this upcoming Philippine International Motor Show. If you want to see it for yourself, check out its Facebook teaser.

But unlike the heavily obscured teaser of Toyota, the automaker simply blacked out the silhouettes of its four incoming new models. This means that with a sharp enough eye and some Google-fu and Adobe Photoshop, it’s easy to decipher what the cars are—which is exactly what we did.

The first car to be shown off is pretty obvious. Despite being a front shot, this low-slung profile is the new Nissan Z.

But if you look at the final collective group shot and brighten up the image, the side profile silhouette shows a longer front bumper—something only the Z Nismo could have.

It's obviously the Patrol, unless Nissan Philippines decides to bring in the Armada. PHOTOS FROM NISSAN

The next car is equally obvious. With a big, blocky profile, it’s the new Y63 Patrol. Considering how much our market loves this car, it’s no surprise that we could be seeing this introduced on our shores pretty early into the vehicle’s life cycle.

Moving on, the silhouette of this crossover matches the Magnite.

If it truly is this (and not the second-generation Kicks), we could be seeing Nissan Philippines enter the affordable subcompact-crossover segment to go up against the likes of the Toyota Raize, the Kia Sonet, the Geely GX3 Pro, and the Changan CS15.

The final one has the profile of a large crossover with a distinctive rear kink, which could most likely be the X-Trail e-Power.

It’s ripe time for the brand to possibly introduce this considering that hybrids now enjoy the same tax cuts as electric vehicles.

Do you think this is plausible, or are we just overthinking? PHOTO FROM NISSAN

Regardless, you can take everything we mentioned with a massive boulder of salt. See you at the Philippine International Motor Show (World Trade Center, Pasay City) on October 24-27.
