Lexus Electrified Sport Concept is celebrating brand’s 16th anniversary in PH

You can catch it on January 17-19 at Lexus Manila, and 24-26 at Lexus Mitsukoshi

Okay. While preparing this article, I was honestly confused. The press release sent by Lexus Philippines clearly mentioned a vehicle called “Electrified Sport Concept.” But I remember seeing this car’s photos in a 2022 article about a concept car simply named “BEV Sport.”

A quick glance at both sets of pictures should tell you that you are looking at the same car. But what do I know? Maybe the concept car now mentioned by Lexus Philippines boasts subtle tweaks compared to the 2022 concept car. Who really knows?

What I do know is that Lexus is bringing this Electrified Sport Concept to the Philippines to celebrate the luxury brand’s 16th anniversary in our market. The car will do this by “meeting and greeting” people on the following dates and venues:

  • January 17-19 – Lexus Manila
  • January 24-26 – Lexus Mitsukoshi

Whatever the real name of this electric concept car is, one thing is clear: This is an electric car. As you know, the world of cars—whether we like it or not—is now shifting from internal-combustion engines to electrified propulsion. In fact, Lexus is already offering an engine-less vehicle in its stable, the RZ450e.

Our bet is that full-hybrid cars will still beat electric vehicles sales-wise in our market for the foreseeable future. And Lexus has many hybrid models. Just one way toward carbon neutrality.

Anyway, see you at the above venues on their specified dates.
