JMC has been known—at least in the Philippine market—as the truck and SUV brand that partners with Ford. However, not many people know about its electric passenger vehicle division called JMEV (Jiangxi Jiangling Group New Energy Vehicle).
On June 5th, JMC Philippines unveiled two new city cars to balance its pickup offerings, aptly named EV2 and EV3.

The EV2 is the smaller of the two in terms of size and power. The single-motor 15.86kWh battery pack pushes a respectable 35hp and 84Nm, good for up to 201km of range. Charging is done through the Chinese-standard GB/T connector with 2kW AC charging.
The EV3 is slightly larger but still tiny enough to be urban-coded. The 30.24kWh battery pack delivers 67hp and 125Nm. Unlike the EV2, this supports the international CCS2-type chargers with AC and DC charging.

While both models have different interiors, they share a unique set of colored accents that might be optioned with different hues, including cyan. They also share a rotary gear selector in the center.
As for the infotainment system, the EV2 has a nine-inch display, while the EV3 is slightly bigger at 10.1 inches. Meanwhile, phone connectivity and mirroring are done via CarbitLink and Bluetooth.

The JMEV lineup starts at P668,000 for the EV2, and the EV3 goes slightly above it at P788,000. Both should sound enticing to those dipping their toes into EV ownership, minus the hefty price tag compared to the competition.
