Jetour is bringing the T1 compact plug-in hybrid SUV to PH this year

The brand shows us the vehicle in Shanghai, China

We’re in China right now in time for Auto Shanghai 2025. Four members of our editorial staff are covering the biennial car show. For the sake of transparency, I wish to inform you that I’m a guest of Jetour Auto Philippines for this event—which, by the way, coincides with the brand’s annual conference called “Together for Future.”

Upon arrival at our hotel, we were greeted by the Jetour T1 at the lobby. It was amusing not just because the compact SUV oozes machismo, but also because we were asked to put our humble autograph on it.

The T1 is called the Freedom in China. It is the little brother of the T2 (Traveller in China), which is selling well in the Philippines.

According to JAPI managing director Miguelito Jose, production of the T1 units for our market will commence in July. After that, the distributor expects to formally launch it around September this year.

The model that JAPI will bring in is the plug-in hybrid version. Jose told us that ICE versions are available, but they are not selling them to our market.

We also got a peek at a couple of new Jetour cars, the X20 and the X50. It is likely that these vehicles will also reach us.

It’s quite impressive when you realize that Jetour was only introduced to our market in March 2023. At the rate the brand has been accepted by Filipino car buyers, I wouldn’t be surprised to see countless units with Jetour badges on our roads.

NOTE: According to our Jetour friends, the X20 and X50 versions you see in the above photo are right-hand-drive. Apologies for suggesting otherwise.
