Local Jeep distributor Auto Nation Group has announced via a press statement that the Renegade Limited 4×2 is now available on our market—for a cool P2,190,000. Equipped with a 1.4-liter straight-four gasoline engine (135hp and 230Nm) mated to a six-speed dual dry-clutch automatic transmission, this Renegade version is being offered in Omaha Orange, Solar Yellow, Colorado Red, Alpine White, Jetset Blue, Black, Anvil and Granite Crystal Metallic.

Obviously, the price tag isn’t exactly cheap for a subcompact crossover SUV that’s about similar in size to the Mazda CX-3. Which is why the importer and seller made sure to attach a list of features that the Philippine-market Renegade comes with, and we’d like to share some of the important ones with you.

Outside, the Renegade Limited 4×2 has 17-inch allow wheels, front and rear fog lamps, roof rails, dual-note electronic horns, heated side mirrors with turn signals, and body cladding. Inside, it has a seven-inch touchscreen display, the Uconnect 4 multimedia system, Apple CarPlay, six audio speakers, steering-wheel audio controls, ambient LED interior lighting, dual-zone automatic air-conditioning, a TFT instrument cluster, bucket front seats, a 60:40-split folding rear seat, a 12V auxiliary power outlet, a front center sliding armrest, a remote USB port, illuminated vanity mirrors, and a tonneau cover.

Like any premium model, the Renegade has a lot of toys. PHOTO FROM JEEP

In terms of safety and electronic driving aids, the small SUV boasts advanced brake assist, traction control, antilock disc brakes, daytime running lights, electronic roll mitigation, stability control, forward collision warning, hill-start assist, voice command with Bluetooth, lane-departure warning, front airbags, side curtain airbags, parking assist, speed control, speed limiting device (perfect for parents with aggressive teenagers), start/stop system, tire pressure monitoring system, and trailer sway damping.

If you’re impressed with the above-mentioned features and feel that the Renegade Limited 4×2 is worth its selling price, you may examine it closer at the Luxury Lane of Shangri-La Plaza Mall in Mandaluyong City from August 17 to 29. Perhaps it could entertain you while you’re waiting for a smaller, much-cheaper SUV (you know, that mechanical mountain goat called Suzuki Jimny).
