Rolls-Royce loves creating one-off commissions for its rich clientele, and while they are all stunning cars, these bespoke carriages can sometimes be a bit hard to relate to. Not so with the latest creation.

Hot on the heels of Aston Martin unveiling a special edition inspired by the 1964 James Bond film, Rolls-Royce now has its own Goldfinger homage. Based on a Phantom Extended model, it features tons of nods to the silver-screen classic, and is a great-looking tribute to the infamous villain Auric Goldfinger and his iconic 1937 Phantom III Sedanca de Ville.

No prizes for guessing that most special features on this Roller have something to do with a certain precious metal. Rolls-Royce’s Bespoke Collective went all out to squeeze as many golden Goldfinger bits into this car as it could, and it did a great job with it.

From a gold-plated Spirit of Ecstasy on the hood to exquisite interior detailing, this model showcases some of the most exclusive custom features ever created for a single car from the British company.

As a nod to the Goldfinger character’s obsession, the car’s center console holds an 18-karat gold bar, shaped as a Phantom “Speedform” and illuminated for maximum effect.

The picnic tables boast a 22-karat gold inlay map of Fort Knox, honoring the movie plot’s bullion heist, and the interior is decked in Navy leather and Royal Walnut veneer, showcasing an elegant backdrop for the intricate gold details.

On the exterior, the body color has been meticulously matched to the yellow of the original Sedanca de Ville used in the film, with a striking two-tone design that includes a black wraparound finish.

One of the most stunning features of the Phantom Goldfinger is its Furka Pass Gallery, a sculptural piece made from stainless steel and gold that runs across the dashboard and replicates the contours of the Swiss Alps’ legendary Furka Pass. This meticulously crafted, 3D design pays homage to the iconic scene where Bond trails Goldfinger through the mountains.

The Starlight Headliner is another highlight, featuring 719 gold-glowing “stars” arranged to replicate the exact night sky above the famous mountain pass on July 11, 1964–the final day of filming on location. The boot even includes a replica of Goldfinger’s iconic golf club, mounted to the lid, which recalls Bond’s first encounter with the villain on the golf course.

Each detail—from the 007 logo projector in the trunk to the harlequin-colored umbrellas matching Oddjob’s accessories—evokes the spirit of the film in ways that are more cool than kitsch. The final touch? A custom “AU 1” license plate referencing gold’s atomic symbol. A quick check with the UK vehicle registry showed that the plate is indeed real and registered to a Phantom, meaning that one lucky collector got a true “gold-standard” finish for his (or her) extraordinary purchase.
