Could this be the all-new Toyota Innova?

And it’s called a crossover, oddly enough

We think that face looks rather handsome, don't you agree? PHOTO FROM TOYOTA INDONESIA

It has been a while since we saw an update to everyone’s favorite supercar photobomber and workhorse MPV, the Toyota Innova. The last update was more of an exterior makeover.

But soon, we could be seeing an entirely new Innova, as teased by Toyota Indonesia. There’s not much information at the moment aside from a veiled teaser photo that reveals a more mature and handsome face reminiscent of the Toyota Highlander.

It being called a crossover means it probably adopts a new unibody platform. FACEBOOK POST BY TOYOTA INDONESIA

If anything, rumors are pointing to the vehicle dropping the tried-and-tested ladder-frame, rear-wheel-drive IMV platform for a new front-wheel-drive platform based on the unibody TNGA platform for more interior space like what the most recent Avanza did.

Even Toyota Indonesia’s Facebook page calls it a “crossover,” which seems to validate those rumors even further.

Regardless, we’re looking forward to seeing how this model will evolve, and we hope to see this on our shores very soon.
