One of the most hotly anticipated middleweight adventure bikes for the year, the Husqvarna Norden 901, was formally unveiled at the recent Makina Moto Show held at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.

Designed in Husqvarna’s native country, Sweden, but incorporating KTM’s proven, race-derived engineering, the Norden 901’s beautiful lines belie the beast within.

The Norden 901 is powered by an 889cc parallel-twin engine rated at 105hp and 103Nm through a six-speed transmission equipped with “Easy Shift” quickshifter.

A slipper clutch even provides additional smoothness in power delivery. It uses a fully adjustable WP Apex suspension with 9.8 inches of travel, and off-road-ready 18-inch rear and 21-inch front wheels.

True to its futuristic looks, the Norden 901 features LED lighting along with traction control, lean-sensitive ABS, and a 6.5-inch TFT display with advanced connectivity for navigation, calls, and music.

The burly motor has Street, Rain, Off-Road, and Explore modes, each of which has specific throttle response, traction control level, and peak power settings.

Cruise control is also standard, as well as an adjustable windscreen and height-adjustable two-piece seat for long days of exploration. The cockpit features an aluminum tapered handlebar with six mounting positions for up to 30mm of fore/aft adjustment range.

Just like its locally available Husqvarna siblings, the 901 is proudly made at the KAMMI plant in Laguna for local and export sales. It’s now available at authorized Husqvarna dealerships nationwide for P950,000.

More information about the bike can be seen on the Husqvarna Motorcycles Philippines website and Facebook page.
