Car shows in China last longer than what we have locally—this year’s Auto China 2026 in Beijing running for 10 days. The expo covered a total area of 380,000sq-m. It remains the largest auto show in China, housing more than 100 brands. One of the brands that debuted again during the event was XPeng, following its rebranding.

The Guangzhou-based company’s booth suited the event’s theme, “Future of Intelligence.” The firm highlighted its physical AI ecosystem. The brand showcased its vehicle lineup, such as the Mona M03, the P7, and the X9. XPeng’s innovations don’t stop with automotive—the manufacturer’s humanoid robot (Iron) and its flying car (Land Aircraft Carrier) were also on display.

XPeng also released the first Vision Language Action 2.0 intelligent driving report since its rollout in March 2026. The VLA 2.0 uses the Turing AI chip for its autonomous driving system. It is currently available to consumers as a Level 2 automated driving system. Almost 100,000 users provided feedback, and 98% were satisfied. New scenarios will be added to its features: the Campus and the Underground Parking Lot Safari. The two models are engineered for more complex situations, such as low-light conditions, unmarked roads, adverse water conditions, and a lack of navigation data.

Furthering the company’s autonomous driving ambitions, the GX was introduced as China’s first fully in-house developed, factory-integrated Robotaxi prototype, which aims to achieve Level 4 automation.

“After 12 years, we are entering a new phase,” said XPeng chairman and CEO He Xiaopeng. “From smart EVs to flying cars, Turing AI chips, large models, humanoid robots, and Robotaxi, we are steadily turning our vision into reality through physical AI. It is on this integrated technological foundation that we are driving forward the future of mobility. The real value of intelligent driving lies not just in capability, but in delivering greater efficiency and a more relaxing experience.”

The rapid globalization of the brand through its entry into 60 countries makes it intriguing to investors. Although its official launch date in the Philippines is still unknown, it remains a brand to anticipate following its success in Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia.

XPeng sets itself apart from the competition through its futuristic innovations and high ambitions. Its advancement over the last 12 years might just be the tip of the iceberg, and its prime is yet to come.
