TRB: No toll to be collected at CAVITEX for 30 days

Effective July 1

Following the announcement of President Bongbong Marcos for a toll holiday at the inauguration of CAVITEX C5 Link Segment 2, the Toll Regulatory Board has finally green-lit the directive of the president to enforce the suspension of toll collections at CAVITEX for 30 days.

Starting July 1, all tollway segments of CAVITEX—specifically the exits at Kawit, Parañaque, C5 Link Segment Merville, and Taguig—and C5 Link Segment 2 will be toll-free for the entire month.

The reasoning of President Marcos is to “help motorists with the rising costs of fuel and inflation.”

There is a valid concern that the suspension of toll collections will result in losses of toll revenues, which are used to pay investors and staff, and maintain the roads.

Despite this, Raul Ignacio, president and general manager of CAVITEX Infrastructure Corporation, will support the decision of the president and the TRB so that “motorists can enjoy the seamless expressway journeys brought about by modern tollway structures and systems.”
