Toyota PH issues recall for Hilux GR-S regarding its sports bar

The mounting brackets may cause it to fly off under ‘severe usage conditions’

Are you the proud owner of the latest Toyota Hilux GR-S? You may want to take note of Toyota Motor Philippines‘ special service campaign (or recall) for the truck, as released by the Department of Trade and Industry.

The automaker says that a total of 3,244 vehicles are affected, produced between July 27, 2023, and April 24, 2024.

The sports bar fitted to the truck’s bed is mounted via brackets, which, under “severe usage cases,” may crack and cause the bar to detach from the vehicle.

It may potentially cause damage to following traffic and pedestrians, so the solution, in the meantime, is to have authorized Toyota dealers remove the sports bar temporarily.

Once the new and improved part is available, it will be fitted back at no cost. To check if your vehicle is affected, you may visit this website.
