It wasn’t too long ago when we were in Tokyo to witness the Asia-Pacific launch of the all-new Maserati GranTurismo. At the time, we were told by the Philippine distributor (Modena Motorsports) that the sleek sports coupe should arrive on local soil in 2024.

That time has certainly come, and what better way to inaugurate the Trident’s new showroom than by having the iconic GranTurismo revealed at the event. Located on the ground floor of the Primex Tower on EDSA corner Connecticut in Greenhills, San Juan City, the showroom has now officially opened its doors to the public.

The establishment was formally opened by Modena Motorsports president Sam Verzosa, alongside Maserati Philippines general manager Mody Llamas Jr. and chairman emeritus Willie Soong.

For now, the GranTurismo will be available in two variants: the Modena with 483hp and 600Nm (0-100km/h in 3.9 seconds), and the Trofeo with 542hp and 650Nm (0-100km/h in 3.5 seconds).

Both variants are powered by the remarkable, Maserati-built 3.0-liter twin-turbo Nettuno V6 engine, the same mill found in the MC20 supercar. All that pure Italian muscle is distributed to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission.

With its formidable power comes a slew of tech and sophistication to make every drive an invigorating one. Maserati’s Vehicle Domain Control Module provides the utmost confidence by delivering a 360° sense of control over the vehicle’s most important systems. The software ensures the best driving experience in any situation.

The cabin, which can seat four individuals, is an exercise in true Maserati craftsmanship. The dash is equipped with the brand’s latest multimedia system known as Maserati Intelligent Assistant, paired with a 14-speaker Sonus Faber audio setup serving unparalleled sound.

For added peace of mind and ease of ownership, the new Atlantis High electronic architecture provides advanced Level 5 cybersecurity and over-the-air updates.

Good news for collectors and enthusiasts: Maserati Philippines will be bringing one of 75 units of the PrimaSerie 75th Anniversary Launch Edition by the end of the year. The fully electric GranTurismo Folgore will also be coming at a later time. Do stay tuned for these.

With the nameplate’s rich history and how Maserati has romanticized the GT, the all-new GranTurismo’s appeal is undeniable. At what price? We are looking at P20 million and up.
