JAC Motors has been present in the country for quite some time now. Unfortunately, things didn’t work out very well for the last distributor. The Chinese automaker offered several good vehicles, but the pandemic and other issues kept it from enjoying the same success as the other Sino brands.

Things are set to change now as Astara Philippines has been named as the official distributor of JAC cars, pickups, and spare parts in the country. This is the mobility company’s fourth brand in the country, which includes Peugeot, GAC, and JMC.

We saw JAC Motors’ manufacturing prowess when we toured its headquarters in Hefei, China, back in 2019. And we can only imagine how much the brand has improved over the years.

“We’re excited to include JAC in our global portfolio, and to exclusively distribute the brand in the Philippines,” said Astara CEO Jorge Navea. “As a top brand with a presence in over 100 countries, JAC’s commitment to quality and focus on electrification perfectly align with Astara’s vision for the future of mobility.”

Astara intends to build an expansive dealer network, introduce electrified models, and strengthen the brand’s image. Will these be enough to make JAC Motors’ reintroduction into the market successful? Let us all wait and see.
