Honda Cars Philippines has issued a high-pressure fuel pump recall on select CR-V RS e:HEV E-CVT units from year models 2023 and 2024. The high-pressure fuel pump may have cracks on the Core B, which may result in gasoline fumes while idling or driving.
HCPI says that all 1,351 affected units shall be subject to inspection, free of charge.
The company has also issued a steering gearbox recall due to snagging, an unusual sound, as well as vibration while steering. These are caused by grease reducing in the worm gear, resulting in an increase of the sliding resistance in the meshing area of the steering gearbox, as well as an increase in torque fluctuation while steering. This being so, the driver will have difficulty turning the vehicle.
In relation to this issue, HCPI says there are 5,505 affected units. It is unclear if the impacted model is also the CR-V RS e:HEV E-CVT or other vehicles. Replacement parts and labor for the voluntary recall are free of charge.
So far, there have been no cases or accidents related to these recalls. HCPI apologizes for any inconvenience these recalls may have caused.
All concerned are urged to avail of inspection for these affected parts. Owners may proceed to any of the 38 Honda dealerships and three service centers nationwide. Customers can verify if their vehicle is affected by encoding its 17-digit chassis number or vehicle identification number in the chassis/VIN search tool at www.hondaphil.com/recall. They can also contact Honda’s customer service hotline, 1-800-1000-HONDA (46632) or (02) 857-7240, from Monday to Friday (8am to 5pm), or e-mail [email protected].
