BYD has formally opened a dealership in Cebu, providing a new brand of electric vehicle mobility for the region. ACMobility (Ayala Corporation’s automotive arm) is the distributor of BYD passenger electric vehicles in the country. Meanwhile, BYD Cebu is owned and operated by Global Star Motors Corporation.
The new facility is located along AS Fortuna in Mandaue City. Cebuanos may be familiar with its location as it was previously Hyundai Cebu North (Global Star Motors retains Hyundai Cebu South).
The showroom measures 354sq-m, allowing six vehicles to be on display. Totaling 2,155sq-m, the facility includes a service reception, a customer lounge, a parts and accessories section, a new-car release bay, and a seven-bay service center.
BYD Cebu will also become an ACMobility charging station with AC and DC charging ports. The dealership follows BYD’s global brand identity standards.
“As we take BYD to more regions, it is the hardworking individuals in our dealerships who answer our customers’ questions, attend to their needs, and, more importantly, support and reinforce the BYD EV ownership experience,” said ACMobility CEO Jaime Alfonso Zobel de Ayala. “We welcome Global Star Motors to our fast-expanding network of BYD electric-vehicle dealerships nationwide.”
“We would like to thank Ayala Corporation and BYD itself for believing in us,” added Global Star Motors president and CEO Edward Vincent Onglatco. “Rest assured, the BYD brand is in safe and very capable hands here in Cebu.”
BYD Cebu is the fourth dealership and the first outside of Luzon, after Quezon Avenue, Makati, and Bonifacio Global City. It is open from 8:30am to 6pm on Mondays to Fridays, and from 9am to 5pm on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. The service department is open from 8am to 6pm on Mondays to Fridays, and 8am to 12nn on Saturdays.
