“New year, new me” is probably what Toyota was thinking of when it decided to rebrand Toyota Gazoo Racing to Toyota Racing. This will be the name of the Cologne-based team as the constructor enters this year’s season of the FIA World Endurance Championship with the TR010 Hybrid hypercar.

On the other hand, the “Gazoo” name will continue as Gazoo Racing with the mission of “making ever-better cars” and developing talents in motorsports. Also, it will still compete in the World Rally Championship.

Lastly, Toyota Gazoo Rookie Racing will continue on as a privateer team serving as the bridge between Toyota Racing and Gazoo Racing. It will be competing at this year’s 24 Hours of Nurburgring with Akio Toyoda as part of the lineup under the name Morizo.

What do you think of Toyota’s rebranding?
