Nostalgia certainly gives you the feels, but let’s be honest here: It’s hard to forgo the comforts and the technology of our modern times. And so, it makes us wonder: Is there a way to somehow enjoy the best of both worlds?
Aftermarket in-car entertainment accessories maker Pioneer believes so. And it gave us a sneak peek of something that perfectly fits your retro car.

The Pioneer SXT-C10PS is a single-din head unit that looks like what a classic radio should. But underneath the retro-style cosmetics is a capable and feature-packed infotainment system.
With this unit, you can listen to music and news thanks to its built-in DAB+ Digital Radio and FM tuner. For those thinking that this comes with a cassette deck, we’re sorry to disappoint you.

Underneath that lid is where you’d find an auxiliary jack and a USB-A port, allowing you to play your own music collection. You can also stream your playlists on your mobile devices or take and make calls via Bluetooth.
But more than those ‘basic’ features, the SXT-C10PS is also very tunable courtesy of a 13-band graphic equalizer, manual time alignment, and high-pass and low-pass filters—a godsend for car audio enthusiasts. These settings can be tweaked using the Pioneer Smart Sync mobile app.

You can run a full-active setup with your component speakers as this has a three-way network mode. The built-in MOSFET amplifier is powerful enough with 50W of power for four channels.
But if you want your music louder, you can hook up a stand-alone amplifier through the RCA pre-outs for the front, rear, and subwoofer channels. It fits most vehicles, and you can also color-match the interior illumination of your car with its RGB multicolor backlighting.

According to Pioneer Europe, the SXT-C10PS will be available in October at its outlets in the region. Do you think this retro HU has takers in the Philippines?
