All-new Hyundai Tucson is an adventure-ready compact SUV in the film ‘Uncharted’

Let’s hope we can finally see it in the metal, too

The all-new Hyundai Tucson makes its big-screen debut via the film Uncharted, which comes out next week in cinemas. The compact SUV appears as a customized “Beast” concept prototype that features a rugged exterior with fortified bumpers and tires, and just looks exactly like a vehicle made for exhilarating escapades.

The film is based on the action-adventure game series of the same name. If you are a PlayStation user, chances are that you have come across it, or actually played it even. It follows the exploits of treasure hunter Nathan Drake and his crew of merry thieves, as they set out to discover historical sites in search of hidden wealth. The series has been immensely successful, and now has its own movie adaptation.

The Hyundai Design and Technical Center worked closely with Sony Pictures on the development of the overall look of the prototype. Their collaboration resulted in a vehicle that truly embodies the adventure-ready concept.

Based on its commercial that stars Tom Holland who plays Nathan Drake, the SUV can really take a beating yet still look so good. It would be interesting to see how it performs in the film, and possibly if the concept prototype can be a version of the vehicle that could be made available to the public.

This also reminded us that it has been more than a year since we got a peek at the fourth-generation model of this compact SUV, and that we still have no word when it will come to the country (save for the gray-market ones, of course). We do not know for certain when we would see it arrive on our shores, but what we can be sure of is that the film will come out next week, February 23.

Sometimes, partnerships between car brands and movie outfits do not work. But not in this case. Let us know how you find the film, and, of course, the beastly render of the compact SUV.
