Poised to be another sales success for the automaker

After years of success in other countries, Mitsubishi finally launched the Outlander PHEV in the Philippines in 2020. We tried it, and we were generally impressed with the vehicle. However, we found the design a bit polarizing. And we somehow wished that the vehicle looked like the new-generation Outlander unveiled early this year. Well, the wait won’t be long for the hybrid version of the popular crossover.

The all-new Outlander PHEV will be launched in Japan on October 28. However, the automaker has already released teaser photos. Up front, a revised interpretation of the Dynamic Shield design gives the crossover sharper looks. The powerful creases on the side, the 20-inch wheels, and the sleek rear end make the new Outlander PHEV a looker. You have 10 color choices, including three premium “Diamond” paint jobs: Red Diamond, White Diamond and Black Diamond.

The roomy interior looks pretty good too. It’s modern but laid out smartly with switches that can be found in places where you’d expect to see them. It is a fresh design that is also quite familiar. There is generous use of high-quality materials. The gauges are easy to read. It looks like nice place to be in. Because of that, the new crossover’s cabin became one of the winners of Wards 10 Best Interiors.

Not much information has been shared about the vehicle like the powertrain and the list of standard equipment. We’ll just have to tune in to the global launch to find out.
