When Changan invited us to visit its headquarters in Chongqing, China, we were impressed by the diversity of the brand’s vehicles that are nowhere to be found on our streets. These include the rugged Hunter pickup, the sporty Uni-V sedan, the electrified Deepal and Qiyuan models, and the luxurious Avatr 011.
Yet, among all the cars Changan Philippines could have introduced, it will launch the CS15 at the Manila International Auto Show. You know it’s an entry-level model when the main selling point is its price: P799,000.
So, what do you get for that much?
Measuring 4,135mm long, 1,740mm wide, and 1,630mm high, the CS15 is a subcompact crossover. Under the hood is a 1.5-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine with 105hp and 145Nm.
Power is delivered to the front wheels via a five-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The vehicle rolls on 17-inch wheels with a wheelbase of 2,520mm and a ground clearance of 190mm.
The CS15 has no variants locally, so all units come with leather seats, a sunroof, and a seven-inch infotainment system with MirrorLink support for Android and iOS devices.
In addition to parking sensors and a rearview camera, the vehicle has front-side airbags to complement the standard ones for the driver and the front passenger.
The CS15 comes with a five-year/150,000km warranty, and will be available in five colors:
- Flame Red
- Aurora Blue
- Blizzard White
- Cosmic Silver
- Galaxy Black
You can see the Changan CS15 in the metal at MIAS on April 4–7 at World Trade Center in Pasay City. Visitors who reserve a unit will receive a P50,000 cash discount and two years of free preventive maintenance service.
Given all these specs and features, do you think this vehicle is worth its price?
