If you’re a fan of the Honda HR-V, you’ll be excited to know that Honda Cars Philippines will soon be launching the third generation of this crossover this April 19.
We’ve already talked about how the newest HR-V’s interior and exterior have abandoned the distinct-looking bodywork for a clean, stately look that should appeal to a more mature audience, while still retaining some key design features like the integrated rear door handles and the sloping roofline for a coupe-like profile.
Unfortunately, we won’t be getting the dual-motor hybrid powertrain in our local HR-V. Instead, we’ll be receiving a 1.5-liter DOHC i-VTEC gasoline engine for the base S variant, and a 1.5-liter VTEC Turbo gasoline engine for the range-topping V variant. Both are mated to a CVT for maximum fuel efficiency.
The two variants will also come standard with the Honda Sensing safety suite with features like:
- Collision Mitigation Braking System
- Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow
- Lane-Keeping Assist System
- Road Departure Mitigation System with Lane Departure Warning
- Auto High-Beam
- Lead Car Departure Notification System
As mentioned earlier, the HR-V will come in two variants. The S CVT is priced at P1,300,000, while the V Turbo CVT retails for P1,600,000. You have a choice of four colors (with pearl colors commanding a P20,000 premium): Ignite Red Metallic, Platinum White Pearl, Premium Opal White Silver (V Turbo CVT only), and Meteoroid Gray Metallic.
Interested? The 37 Honda dealerships will be accepting reservations starting April 1, and the official launch will take place on Honda Philippines’ official Facebook page this April 19.
