The subcompact MPV segment becomes more competitive

In  April last year, we told you that Suzuki had launched the second-generation Ertiga subcompact MPV in Indonesia. Based solely on available images, we concluded that the new model was decidedly better-looking than its predecessor.

And then in July, we reported that a source from Suzuki Philippines had said that they would likely release the new Ertiga in our market ahead of the much-anticipated fourth-generation Jimny. Indeed, if you have been to the company’s official website lately, you may have noticed a link at the top of the home page that says “all-new Ertiga.” If you click on this link, you will see this announcement, together with an invitation to “book a test drive”:

Well, Suzuki Philippines is officially introducing the all-new seven-seater MPV tomorrow, January 23, and we have the introductory prices for the four variants:

  • All-new Ertiga GA MT – P728,000
  • All-new Ertiga GL MT – P848,000
  • All-new Ertiga GL AT – P888,000
  • All-new Ertiga GLX AT – P978,000

In Indonesia, the new Ertiga is equipped with a 1.5-liter four-cylinder VVT gasoline engine—rated at 103hp and 138Nm—so our bet is that our market’s version will have the same source of propulsion. Needless to say, we’ll give you the local specs as soon as we get them.

So, what do you think of the all-new Suzuki Ertiga’s prices?
