It’s safe to say that Chery has well and truly transitioned from a has-been to a must-have. The automaker’s portfolio covers a wide range of budgets and size requirements. It seems like the brand is really bent on giving customers more choices by launching two new electrified vehicles at the 2024 Manila International Auto Show.

Teased at the 11th Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit, the Tiggo 7 Pro PHEV is packed with features that will make any road trip more enjoyable. The eight-speaker sound system is by Sony, and the 12.3-inch infotainment display has Android and Apple device integration. Additional amenities that passengers will enjoy using include a panoramic sunroof and mood lighting.

The plug-in hybrid powertrain has a turbocharged 1.5-liter engine combined with an electric motor. System output peaks at 322hp, and a bespoke three-speed transmission delivers power to the wheels. Electric driving range is pegged at 80km.

Chery has also taken the opportunity to stick its head into the battery-electric vehicle segment with the eQ7. Also previewed at the 11th Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit, this model offers a driving range of 500km. Its battery pack has an IPx9K waterproof rating. Making the eQ7 rather unique in its class is its Level 2+ self-driving system.

For those interested, here are the prices:

  • Tiggo 7 Pro PHEV – P1,800,000
  • eQ7 – P2,000,000

You can see these vehicles up close at World Trade Center on April 4-7.
