Lexus teases the next-generation RX crossover

The latest iteration will adopt design cues from the RZ EV

The Lexus RX is considered to be the pioneer of luxury crossovers ever since its introduction in 1998. Since then, it has proven to be the brand’s best-selling vehicle with four generations and multiple variants.

The current AL20 RX was released all the way back in 2015, so it’s no surprise that an all-new model has been in the works. And Lexus is finally starting to tease the new model bit by bit, starting with a glimpse of the front.

While not much has been shown in this single teaser image, we can see that the famous spindle grille will be adopting a new look with a 3D effect at the top similar to the RZ‘s front fascia, but with an actual grille to cool the engine. The redesigned lights are two-tiered clusters divided by the L-shaped DRL, something seen in newer Lexus designs starting with the UX.

Otherwise, details are still up in the air for the vehicle. But expect electrified powertrains and the new Lexus Interface infotainment that has been making its way across the lineup. What we can tell you is that the all-new RX will be launching this June 1 at 9am Japan time (or 8am for us Filipinos).
