Since 2020, Ford Philippines has been repeatedly badgered by customers and journalists with questions as to when it will bring the resurrected Bronco to our humble market. Always, the answer is a sheepish smile.

Well, today, a short e-mail from the company bears this simple message:

Ford Philippines is confirming the launch of the Ford Bronco this year. It will soon be open for reservation exclusively via the Ford online reservation portal at www.ford.com.ph, and will be supported by all Ford dealers nationwide. More information including product specifications and reservation timings will be shared closer to launch date.

Question is: Which Bronco exactly? If you are familiar with this American SUV nameplate, you know that there are three models available:

• 2-Door
• 4-Door
• Sport

So we contacted the company’s communications director, EJ Francisco, and asked him which of the models they are launching. Maybe all (wishful thinking)?

“Let’s stick with the statement muna, chief,” he replied. “For now, what we can announce is yung nasa statement pa lang.”

Fair enough.

Is this a case of Ford trying to build up the excitement? Or has the distributor really not made up its mind as to the model lineup?
