Electrification is the new trend in our auto industry, with carmakers adding mild-hybrid variants of existing vehicles left and right. One of them is Chery Auto Philippines, which has just held its delivery ceremony for the Tiggo 5X Pro Hybrid ahead of its official launch.
The electrified crossover was previewed at this year’s Manila International Auto Show alongside the Tiggo 7 Pro Hybrid sibling. As a refresher, it features a 1.5-liter turbocharged in-line-four engine and a CVT. The mild hybrid aspect is handled by a 48V belt starter generator in place of a traditional alternator.
It cannot run solely on electric power, but fuel efficiency and a small bump in power are more than guaranteed.
