A new and intelligent contender in the 150cc segment

The Suzuki Burgman has been available in the Philippine market in different displacements: the 125cc Burgman Street and Burgman Street EX, and the 400cc Burgman 400. Situated between the two sizes is the new Burgman 15, which has a 149cc engine. Motorists who want to upgrade their ride but are not ready to commit to a big scoot finally have this median.

The Japanese manufacturer and one of China’s leading motorcycle manufacturers, Haojue, collaborated for the production of the Burgman 15. The brand boasts the tagline “Intelligent Luxury” through innovation and technology.

It has a sleek front fascia with a minimalistic design throughout the unit. It has the model’s badges on both sides of the rear fairings. The TFT display is in full color and has both day and night versions for easier viewing (it tracks not just speed, fuel level, and rpm, but also tire pressure).

The scooter focuses a lot on comfort. It has premium seats, flexible foot positioning, and a relaxed rear footrest, making long travels bearable for both the passenger and the driver. Its journey is smoother even on uneven city roads because of the 14-inch tires that enhance road grip, and the twin suspension with a sub-tank located at the back.

The motorbike is fitted with a four-stroke, SOHC, two-valve, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, fuel-injected, 149cc engine and an auto stop-start motor, making it even more fuel-efficient. For added safety, it is also equipped with traction control and a dual-channel ABS. It has triple LED headlights and taillights with daytime running lights, flexible turn signals, a passing light, and a hazard light switch.

To further its practicality, it has an easy-access front fuel lid, an intelligent key, a top-box-ready carrier, and two USB Type-C charging ports (one in the glove box and one under the pillion). There’s a 25L underseat compartment, which is more than enough for a helmet and a raincoat.

Finally, the Burgman 15 has limited color choices, only having Pearlescent White and Pearlescent Black.

Suzuki Philippines has priced the Burgman 15 at P165,000, close enough to directly compete with other maxi-scooters. With a focus on performance and user-friendliness, this is an excellent choice for premium buyers who both travel long distances and make nearby stops.
