From May 7 to 9, the 48th ASEAN Summit was held in Cebu, bringing together prominent leaders from Southeast Asia. Ferrying the guests to and from Shangri-La Mactan was courtesy of BMW Philippines, the official mobility partner of the weekend. However, the regular 7-Series wouldn’t cut it.

Instead, the delegates were chauffeured around in the new 7-Series Protection. Based on the 760i xDrive, the all-wheel-drive full-size sedan powered by a 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system (producing 536hp and 750Nm).
However, the biggest difference between this and a regular 7-Series is the additional steel structure, armored underbody and roof, and thicker glass that envelops the occupants, which earned the VR9 protection level under the VPAM standards.

The 7-Series Protection is also equipped with Michelin Premacy run-flat tires to keep going in dire situations, and M Sport brakes for extra stopping power. Despite the extra weight, it can still pull 0-100km/h in 6.6 seconds.
For the very important person in your life, business, and country, the 7-Series Protection starts at P50 million, about 62% more than the starting prices of the 735i and the i7 xDrive60 combined. Would you get this over the Mercedes-Benz S680 Guard?
