Last week, we shared news about the completion of Skyway Stage 3’s structural works. Unfortunately, the toll road is still closed for traffic as of this moment due to delays in finishing works brought about by the continuous rains of late. However, San Miguel Corporation president and chief operating officer Ramon S. Ang has an early Christmas gift for road users with the announcement of the toll road’s soft opening this December.
This means that come before the end of the year, motorists will be able to use portions or the entire 18km stretch of the elevated tollway, free of charge. On- and off-ramps at Buendia, Plaza Dilao, Nagtahan, Aurora Boulevard, Quezon Avenue, Sergeant Rivera, Balintawak, and NLEX will be made accessible to the public. In addition, SMC plans to finish the northbound section of the Skyway extension project by December as well. Once completed, this will reduce travel times from Susana Heights in Muntinlupa City to NLEX’s Balintawak Toll Plaza in Quezon City to as little as 20 minutes.
Looks like one of our motoring Christmas wishes has come true. Time to stop being naughty and start being nice.
