The luxury brand popularly known among Filipinos as “Chedeng” marks a milestone year as Mercedes-Benz celebrates 140 years since Karl Benz introduced the Patent-Motorwagen in 1886—considered as the world’s first true automobile and the foundation of modern mobility.

For generations, Mercedes-Benz has held a unique place in Filipino car culture. The name Chedeng has become synonymous with success, refinement, and aspiration. More than a badge, the three-pointed star has grown into a symbol of progress and craftsmanship that continues to endure in the country.

At the heart of the “Welcome Home” campaign are ownership offers, heritage storytelling, and customer experiences. Central to the promotion is an exclusive 1886 Benz Patent-Motorwagen replica, available to customers who purchase a brand-new Mercedes-Benz vehicle until June 30—a nod to the invention that started it all.

Mercedes-Benz Philippines is also offering special ownership packages, including down-payment options (starting at P140,000) and select model discounts. Customers may visit authorized Mercedes-Benz dealerships in Greenhills, Alabang, and Cebu.

The campaign also extends online through #Chedeng and #140YearsOfInnovation, inviting owners and fans to share their Mercedes-Benz stories. Selected entries may be featured on official channels and win exclusive merchandise.

As Mercedes-Benz marks 140 years of innovation, the celebration reflects both heritage and continuity—a brand that helped invent the automobile, and start a culture—that continue to evolve with the times.
