Mercedes-Benz Philippines has announced the arrival of plug-in hybrid options for two of its most important models: the E350e and the GLC350e.

What is regarded to be the quintessential Mercedes-Benz, the E-Class (now in its 11th generation and code-named W214) preserves its elegant and timeless appearance and represents the values of the brand.

Inside, this latest E-Class features the MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) Superscreen—a 14.4-inch central touchscreen and a 12.3-inch display on the passenger side that is integrated and accommodated under a single glass surface, providing a fluid design.

Elevating the cabin experience is the Burmester 4D surround-sound system with 17 speakers and four exciters (which are in the seats to channel rhythms and to feel the bass as well as other frequencies for an immersive experience), putting out a total of 730W. For a more captivating surround sound, music can be played in Dolby Atmos quality.

The GLC350e, meanwhile, remains a strong option in the luxury compact SUV segment while offering efficiency and performance with a plug-in hybrid variant.

It also features the latest generation of MBUX as well as MBUX Navigation Plus for intelligent route planning. In addition, the Transparent Bonnet feature provides a virtual view below the vehicle to supplement visibility when navigating steep ramps, rough terrain, and narrow spaces.

The GLC offers 470L of cargo space (reduced from 620L in gasoline and diesel GLC models due to the positioning of the battery pack for the plug-in hybrid) and 1,530L with the rear seats folded down.

Both models are propelled by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine combined with an electric motor (delivering a combined output of 204hp and 320Nm), and have a nine-speed 9G-Tronic automatic gearbox and an all-electric range of more than 100km.

These two also offer onboard AC charging of up to 11kW via a Type 2 socket, and come equipped with a charging cable for domestic outlets.

The E350e has a retail price of P5.49 million, and the GLC350e is yours for P4.89 million.
