Williams has just announced that Alex Albon signed a multiyear contract extension. This means the Thai driver will continue racing for the team until 2026.

The Formula 1 driver market has been in quite a frenzy ever since Lewis Hamilton jumped ship from Mercedes-AMG to Ferrari. There’s also the drama at Red Bull, which will also be losing Adrian Newey next year.

“I am incredibly happy to be remaining with Williams Racing and to continue working with such a talented and dedicated team of people,” said Albon. “This is a long-term project that I really believe in, and want to play a key role in which is why I have signed a multiyear contract. The journey will take time, but I am confident we are building the right team to move forward and achieve great things in the years to come.”

The 2026 season is when new regulations will kick in. It seems the Thai driver has placed his confidence in Williams. So the question now is: “Who’s going to be his teammate next year?” Do you think Logan Sargeant will keep his seat, or will the American make way for an upcoming junior like Kimi Antonelli?
