Toyota Motor Asia will be sending a lineup of seven Global Team Toyota Athletes to compete in the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games and Asian Para Games. The roster includes five familiar faces and two new members:

  • Philippines: Carlos Yulo (gymnastics)
  • Philippines: Ernie Gawilan (para swimming)
  • Indonesia: Muhammad Fadli Imamuddin (para cycling)
  • Malaysia: Muhammad Ammar Aiman Nor Azmi (para swimming)
  • Singapore: Toh Wei Soong (para swimming)
  • Thailand: Kunlavut Vitidsarn (badminton)
  • Vietnam: Lê Văn Công (para powerlifting)

Carlos Yulo and Ernie Gawilan will be representing the Philippines in gymnastics and para swimming, respectively. Joining the lineup are Muhammad Fadli Imamuddin, a former motorcycle racer from Indonesia who transitioned to para cycling after a racing incident; and Muhammad Ammar Aiman Nor Azmi, who won gold in para athletics at the 2022 Asian Para Games and the 2025 ASEAN Para Games.

Each athlete is part of the Dual Hero Projects, where they undertake a Toyota-backed project tied to a cause they are passionate about. Gawilan mobilized more than 1,300 volunteers across 33 sites for a nationwide coastal cleanup and mangrove restoration. Meanwhile, Yulo has the “Start Your Impossible” camp to support aspiring gymnasts in reaching their full potential.

“At Toyota, sport is a reflection of the human experience—the hope, the doubt, the dignity in defeat, and the joy of moving forward together,” said Toyota Motor Asia vice president Preston Tan. “Across Asia, our seven Global Team Toyota Athletes embody that spirit, and it is our privilege to stand beside these athletes that continue to inspire and demonstrate how far dedication and courage can take them, both in competition and beyond.”
