After an impressive 2023 performance from the local automotive industry that saw vehicle sales soar to about 430,000 units, companies like Kia Philippines have made efforts to continue powering forward in 2024 by offering the range-topping SX variant on its popular Seltos compact crossover.

The Seltos was launched in November 2019 in the Philippine market, so it is timely that the model received a significant update just after four years, but it’s only now that the top-tier variant was officially launched, completing the revitalized Seltos lineup.

The SX’s key feature is its turbocharged 1.4-liter Smartstream G four-cylinder engine. It outputs a healthy 138hp and 242Nm, driving the front wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. The powertrain combination promises the most engaging and enjoyable driving experience in the Seltos range.

The SX variant receives a bevy of driving aids and safety equipment: six airbags, smart cruise control with stop-and-go ability, lane-keeping assist, lane-following assist, forward collision-avoidance assist, high-beam assist, and parking distance warning, all exclusive to the top variant.

Of course, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard. The SX also receives dual-zone climate control, cooled front seats, an electronic parking brake, and keyless entry.

Outside, the SX receives a more prominent grille design with added accents, revised front and rear bumpers with updated turn signals, LED fog lamps, functional roof rails, satin-finish belt trims, chrome trims, and connected Star Map signature LED taillamps to differentiate it from the lower Seltos variants.

A unique and sophisticated set of 17-inch two-tone alloy wheels for the SX stands out on the road. Lastly, the SX variant is offered in two exclusive colors available only for the top variant: Pluton Blue and Snow White Pearl with a black roof.
