The refreshed 2022 Lexus ES is launched in PH

Two variants are priced at P4,728,000 and P3,758,000

The Lexus ES was given a minor refresh back in April, with subtle exterior and interior changes (like a new grille, updated lights, and a new rear bumper) to the executive sedan. Thankfully, prospective buyers need not wait any longer, as Lexus Philippines has now officially brought the refreshed model in for preview and preorders.

While we’re not getting the full suite of upgrades like the camera mirrors, we’ll be receiving a Hybrid variant locally for the first time. Two variants of the ES will be sold here: the ES300h and the ES350 Premier.

The ES300h will go for P3,758,000. It features an electric motor that pairs with the 2.5-liter in-line-four A25A-FXS. With the hybrid system, the combined power output and torque are pegged at 215hp and 300Nm. This powertrain should allow you to be extremely fuel-efficient while cruising silently within the city.

Compared to the higher trim, it rides on smaller 17-inch wheels and has a synthetic leather interior, an eco meter with HEV indicator, eight-way power-adjustable front seats, new eight-inch Lexus Touch Display infotainment, and 10-speaker Lexus Premium Sound System. Oddly, this version does not receive the Lexus Safety System+ suite of safety aids.

The ES350 Premier, meanwhile, is priced at P4,728,000. This has the traditional naturally aspirated 3.5-liter V6 2GR-FKS. Power and torque figures are 297hp and 356Nm, with the eight-speed automatic transmission sending them to the front wheels.

This variant has noise-reducing 18-inch wheels, a semi-aniline leather interior, ventilated 10-way power-adjustable front seats, 12.3-inch Electro Multi Vision touchscreen infotainment, and a 17-speaker Mark Levinson Premium Surround Sound System.

Other electronic toys include automatic rain-sensing wipers, kick sensor for automatic trunk, wireless charging, and the complete Lexus Safety System+ suite of safety features (dynamic radar cruise control, adaptive high beams, lane-tracing assist, blind spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.

The new Lexus ES is available for preview and preselling before the car officially goes on sale in the fourth quarter of this year.
