If you thought that Hyundai Motor Philippines’ electric offensive was just on the battery-electric vehicle front, think again.

The automaker has introduced two very familiar vehicles for our market, but now with an electrified twist. These are the Tucson Hybrid and the Santa Fe Hybrid.

The former will retail for P2,290,000, and the latter will cost P3,330,000.

The updated Tucson receives a mild visual update with smoothened-out headlights, tweaked bumpers, and revised 19-inch wheels.

Available colors are:

  • Pine Green
  • Phantom Black Pearl
  • White Cream
  • Shimmering Silver
  • Amazon Gray
  • Deep Sea
  • Cashmere Bronze

Instead of the old “split-cockpit” design inside, there is a single pane of curved glass that houses two 12.3-inch displays, a new three-spoke steering wheel with a steering column-mounted shifter, and a floating center console that houses the wireless charging pad.

The Hyundai SmartSense ADAS suite is standard on the Hybrid, with blind-spot monitoring, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, Side Parking Distance Warning, and a 360° camera.

Additionally, the updated Tucson is also available with traditional ICE powertrains. The diesel is priced at P1,980,000, and the gasoline model is P1,680,000.

As for the Santa Fe Hybrid, it is based on the top-end Calligraphy variant, meaning it’s fully loaded with features like Nappa leather upholstery, UV-C sterilization, dual wireless charging pads, dual 12.3-inch screens, and the Hyundai SmartSense ADAS suite.

Setting it apart are unique 20-inch wheels, captain’s chairs, and the addition of the hybrid drivetrain. It’s available in six colors:

  • Abyss Black
  • Creamy White
  • Magnetic Gray
  • Earthy Brass
  • Terracotta Orange
  • Ocado Green

The same hybrid drivetrain powers both cars: a 1.6-liter gasoline engine and an electric motor for a total power output of 231hp and 350Nm for the Tucson, and 231hp and 365Nm for the Santa Fe.

A six-speed automatic sends power to the front wheels, and additional tech such as the e-Dynamic Drive system improves handling, with features like evasive handling assist, torque vectoring, and regenerative braking.

Both hybrids have five years (or 200,000km) of warranty, and eight years (or 160,000km) for the high-voltage battery.

You can reserve these two at the following Hyundai dealerships:

  • Alabang
  • Bacolod
  • Cebu South
  • Commonwealth
  • E. Rodriguez
  • Makati
  • Pampanga
  • Pasig

You can see these in the metal at the “Hyundai Mobility Experience” in Alabang Town Center until July 21.
