If there’s one Chinese car brand that is being noticed by both the automotive industry and the general motoring community, it’s BYD. You know, that automaker that sold 4.27 million vehicles globally last year, and—in so doing—overtook both Ford and Honda.

BYD Philippines wants to capitalize on this momentum and continue its impressive march toward relevance (and, it must be said, significance). After a dizzying 2024 calendar year, the distributor isn’t about to take its foot off the accelerator, starting the year with a couple of interesting electric vehicles.

First of these is the Seal Advanced, a rear-wheel-drive version of the Seal Performance. It has a single-motor setup as opposed to the dual-motor nature of its sibling. As such, its 61.4kWh propulsion has a range of 510km versus the Performance’s 580km.

The price of this sedan? A more attainable P1,998,000.

The second car is the “new” Atto 3. This version features 18-inch alloy wheels, a power tailgate, a 15.6-inch touchscreen, and vibrant exterior/interior colors.

This improved compact crossover goes for P1,798,000.

Ready for your first full-electric car? You can catch this electric duo—as well as the rest of the brand’s product lineup—at the “BYD Tech Tour” held this weekend (January 17-19) at Ayala Malls Solenad in Nuvali, Santa Rosa, Laguna.
