The compact crossover segment has been growing recently, and with growth has come fierce competition. But GAC has managed to beat the odds with the GS3 Emzoom.
With over 2,000 units sold since its introduction to the Philippine market in June 2023, the Emzoom has quickly become GAC’s best-selling model. And it’s easy to see why.
Motivating the Emzoom is a spunky 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder mated to a silky-smooth seven-speed wet-type dual-clutch transmission. With 174hp and 270Nm on tap, the GS3 Emzoom provides an engaging experience behind the wheel.
It’s a looker, too. Angular geometric shapes, chiseled body lines, and fun color options all combine to create an attention-grabbing vehicle. But don’t think for a second that this funky SUV is short of space. The interior is well-designed and lavishly appointed, creating a soothing atmosphere for its occupants.
This is a well-packaged vehicle with oodles of legroom for each passenger and more than enough girth to keep things cozy even on long trips. Plus, 341L of trunk space—which goes up to 1,271L with the rear seats down—makes the GS3 Emzoom a practical all-arounder.
Add to those the fact that the Emzoom just ranked first in the 2024 China Automobile Quality Rankings along with its impressive five-star ASEAN NCAP safety rating, and it’s no surprise that the Emzoom is topping the sales charts.
Now, GAC has updated the Emzoom lineup to make it even more compelling for Filipino buyers with the GS3 Emzoom Touring. The old mid-level GB variant has been bumped off the price list in favor of the former, which comes with meaningful upgrades.
Prior to this update, the GB was already an excellent value-for-money proposition. At the reasonable price of P1,098,000, the GB packed most of the features the range-topping R-Style had, such as the digital instrument cluster and the leather seats. However, all this was wrapped in an exterior package that was not far from the base GS trim.
But GAC has been keeping an ear to the ground, and has heard the call of the people. Some have no need for the fancy panoramic sunroof and the ADAS package on the R-Style, but are simply drawn to the R-Style’s aggressive looks, and the Touring is the answer.
The R-Style bodykit has been added to the Touring to create a sportier and more dynamic look that sets it apart from the GS. The R-Style’s center-mounted dual-exit exhaust has also been carried over to the Touring to complete the ensemble.
In addition, the Touring comes with an exclusive new colorway: Galaxy Lilac. This pearlescent coating reflects shades of pink, purple, and lilac as light glides across the bodywork. With this, GAC hopes to give its customers more ways to tailor the Emzoom to their own unique style.
And if all that isn’t impressive enough, it gets even better. Despite the upgrades to the mid-tier trim, the price remains steady at P1,098,000, which is exactly what the old GB cost—making the Touring a truly outstanding deal.
“Where craft meets technology” reads GAC’s tagline on the Emzoom brochure, and this new Touring variant is the perfect embodiment of GAC’s commitment to creating vehicles that not only appeal to the senses, but are also backed by sound engineering and innovation.
