The special design features the iconic red and white colors of the 1999 YZF-R7, a nod to a beloved machine from Yamaha’s past. Fans got a first look at the festive new look during a special reveal on the TT Circuit Assen starting grid, showcasing not only the bikes but also the riders’ gear and team apparel.

The 1999 YZF-R7—specifically the YZF-R7 OW02 ridden by Noriyuki Haga in the World Superbike Championship—serves as the primary inspiration. Riders Fabio Quartararo, Álex Rins, Jack Miller, and Miguel Oliveira will even be wearing racing gear that draws from Haga’s distinctive 1999 attire for the Dutch GP.

It’s a vibrant display of Yamaha’s legacy, blending classic design with modern MotoGP performance for a memorable weekend at Assen. It’s going to be pretty awesome to see them out there, especially for Yamaha fans.
