Sports-car afficionados will know that the Alpine A110 is one of France’s most interesting automobiles. Light and nimble as a cat, it’s a vehicle for enthusiasts who want something different from the usual suspects.
Now, if you like riding two wheels and have a little over P2 million to spare, MV Agusta has the Superveloce Alpine. A collaboration with the French carmaker, the project was led by motorcycle firm’s Monaco design studio to create the perfect synthesis of the two brands’ personalities. The blue livery on the bike matches that of the A110, while raised “A” logos on the fairings are reminiscent of the car’s original detailing from the `60s. French and Italian flags are proudly displayed on either fender.
Mechanically, this Superveloce is the same as the regular production model. Its 798cc triple-cylinder engine punches out 147hp and with a glorious exhaust symphony to boot. A multitude of advanced features like a cassette-style transmission with quickshifter, Brembo discs, Marzocchi/Sachs suspension, and Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa II tires all combine to give it exceptionally sporty performance. Only 110 units will be made available.
MV Agusta CEO Timur Sardarov said “Many Alpine customers are also big MV Agusta fans, and vice-versa. The Superveloce Alpine will ideally bring the two worlds together, with incredible synergies in terms of design, personality and style. We look forward to this collaboration with one of the most admired brands in the history of motorsport, and are confident that this new, superb limited edition will be met with enthusiasm by bikers and motorsport fans around the world.”
Patrick Marinoff, managing director of Alpine, added “MV Agusta is a symbol of Italian craftsmanship and excellence that makes motorcycles like no other. Our two brands are driven by the same passion for creating beautifully engineered products and unique emotions for our customers. The Superveloce Alpine is a fine piece of design and technology that makes no compromise on performance and riding pleasure.”
The limited-run Superveloce Alpine is now available at Motostrada for a mere P2,200,000, and that includes a swank racing kit consisting of a three-exit exhaust system, a rear-seat cover, a customized bike cover, a CNC fuel cap, and a certificate of authenticity.
