Land Transportation Office chief Atty. Vigor Mendoza II has stated that controversial moto vlogger Yanna will be asked to explain why her driver’s license should not be suspended or revoked for being an improper person to operate a motor vehicle. Mendoza has emphasized that road rage incidents have severe consequences, and that influencers should promote responsible driving and road safety.

The LTO now summons the lady rider to explain a road rage altercation that went viral on social media. The incident, which occurred in Zambales, showed Yanna instigating a confrontation with a pickup truck driver over a dispute about reckless driving.

Despite Yanna’s apology online after facing backlash on social media, the LTO will proceed with the investigation. Transportation secretary Vince Dizon had previously vowed to crack down on reckless and irresponsible drivers to ensure road safety amid increasing accident and road rage cases.

Senator JV Ejercito, who was reportedly part of a moto camping event with Yanna, endorsed the incident to the Department of Transportation for further investigation. In his social media post, he stated: “Though there was a public apology by Yanna on video last night, there should be action from the appropriate government agency (LTO) to discipline drivers or riders on the road. We shall await the action of DOTR and LTO on this matter. Also, we should never tolerate this kind of behavior. Yanna should learn from this incident.”

On the other hand, the pickup driver’s family has said that they will file the necessary charges over this issue that caused their humiliation. Yanna’s camp reportedly tried to visit and negotiate; unfortunately, the pickup driver refused to meet with them.

Is it too late to apologize? You tell us.
