After an almost two-year tenure at Hyundai Motor Philippines, Jiho Son will step down as president and will be succeeded by Byung Goo Ko. The latter has been working for the Korean brand in strategic roles across Asia-Pacific, Europe, India, and the Middle East.

“We gladly welcome Mr. Ko to Hyundai Motor Philippines,” expressed HMPH managing director Cecil Capacete. “He is a seasoned figure in the automotive industry with extensive experience across all business operations. With him at the helm, HMPH looks forward to building on its momentum and pursuing new opportunities in the years ahead.”

While Son handled dealership and model expansions, the future will be focused on sustainable growth.

“The Philippines has always been a valued market for us at Hyundai Motor Company, and we see so much potential for growth,” said Ko. “With a constantly changing automotive landscape, it’s now more important than ever to strengthen our brand presence and to inspire consumer confidence.”
