The Jaecoo J5 is an SUV for pet lovers who enjoy the great outdoors, first unveiled in October 2024. However, the car isn’t a one-trick pony, for it also has an electric variant. Here are the basic specs of the Jaecoo J5 EV.

The J5 EV retains the same dimensions as its ICE counterpart, measuring 4,380mm by 1,860mm, by 1,650mm, with a wheelbase of 2,620mm. However, the absence of an engine allows the EV to have a 35L washable “frunk”—in addition to the 480L trunk. At the back, the second row gets 1,492mm of horizontal elbow room for maximum comfort.
A 155kW electric motor with 288Nm of torque drives the front wheels. The J5 EV has a maximum range of up to 461km thanks to its 58.9kWh CATL lithium iron phosphate battery. With fast charging, the battery can be topped up from 30% to 80% within 28 minutes. The EV also has a V2L function, allowing it to act as a power source with a discharge rate of 3.3kW.

Depending on the variant, the J5 EV has a suite of ADAS features such as adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane-keep assist, blind-spot detection, rear cross-traffic alert, and a 360° camera.
According to a representative from Omoda & Jaecoo Philippines, the J5 EV is set to launch in our market before the end of this month at around P1.4 million. To stay updated, you can follow the distributor on its Facebook page.
