Although there isn’t much hype surrounding entry-level sedans, they will always be a staple in the market. Inchcape Philippines has just launched the Changan Eado Plus with the tagline: “The new standard of everyday driving.”

To give a bit of history, the Eado was first introduced in China back in 2012. Last year, Changan sold 168,900 units of the Eado Plus, making it the number-one gasoline sedan in its home country, according to the China Passenger Car Association.

Given this, Changan Philippines is confident that the Eado Plus will be a key volume driver, replacing the Alsvin in the lineup.

The Eado Plus is an entry-level model, but it is not a subcompact sedan like the Toyota Vios. It measures 4,730mm by 1,829mm by 1,505mm, with a wheelbase of 2,700mm, making it more comparable to the Corolla Altis. Open the trunk and you get 500L of cargo space.

The 1.5-liter BlueCore gasoline engine produces 105hp and 145Nm of torque, which is delivered to the front wheels via a seven-speed wet-type dual-clutch transmission.

The Eado Plus is available in two variants: Lite and Luxe. According to Changan Philippines brand head Ryan Bermudez, the former is aimed at business owners and fleet operators, while the more premium variant caters toward personal users.

The Eado Plus Lite is more utilitarian with 16-inch steel wheels, and a seven-inch infotainment system with Bluetooth and USB connectivity. On the other hand, the Eado Plus Luxe gets 16-inch alloy wheels, a 10-inch infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and foldable second-row seats.

The Changan Eado Plus aims to elevate your driving experience with its spacious cabin, premium features, and attractive pricing. It is available in four colors:

  • White
  • Black
  • Andean Gray
  • Titanium Silver Gray (for special order)

The Lite has an SRP of P750,000, while the Luxe goes for P799,999. However, the Eado Plus currently has introductory prices of P699,000 and P749,999, respectively, until April 30.
