One RFID for all tollways? The dream is now a reality

Will this end your toll-fee anxiety?

Just in time for the holidays, President Bongbong Marcos has launched the “One RFID, All Tollways” program. Formally called the “Toll Collection System Interoperability,” the purpose is to lessen the confusion in having separate RFID providers in different toll areas, giving motorists a hassle-free experience.

With the cooperation of San Miguel Corporation for Autosweep, and Metro Pacific Investments Corporation for Easytrip, we finally have the choice to pick either without thinking about loading each one for specific trips on different tollways.

According to the Easytrip website’s FAQ, “The ‘One RFID, All Tollways’ program allows you to subscribe to one RFID provider (Easytrip RFID or Autosweep RFID) and use your RFID balance to pay for toll on all Luzon expressways.

Note that the unification is not mandatory. You still have the option to retain your existing RFID tags and cards. If you’re willing, you can enroll your choice of platform, whether Autosweep or Easytrip. You can do it on-site or online.

So, are you ready for the merge?
