Day in and day out, we hear horror stories about commuting in the metro. Trains bogging down, buses and jeepneys taking an eternity to pick up and drop off passengers, and choosy taxicab drivers. Will the suffering of Metro Manila commuters ever end?
Thankfully, the Premium Point-to-Point Bus Service is a step in the right direction. The buses under this service are far more efficient and far more convenient for travelers in very busy parts of the metropolis. And now, the Department of Transportation is planning to come up with more P2P bus routes to help ease the burden of everyday commuters. In a Facebook post, the DOTr bared the following new routes for its P2P bus service within Metro Manila:
- Pasig (city proper) – Ortigas
- Pasig (city proper) – Makati
- Pasay – Makati
- Las Piñas – Makati
- Taguig (city proper) – Ortigas
- Taguig (city proper) – Makati
- Sucat – Lawton
- Alabang – Lawton
- Malabon/Navotas – Pasay (via R10)
- NAIA – Alabang
- NAIA – Cubao

For nearby provinces, the following new P2P bus routes are in store for commuters:
- Bacoor (Cavite) – Makati
- Imus (Cavite) – Makati
- Noveleta (Cavite) – Makati
- Dasmariñas (Cavite) – Makati (via Daang Hari)
- NAIA – Santa Rosa, Laguna

- Clark (Pampanga) – Malolos (Bulacan)
- Clark (Pampanga) – Tarlac City (Tarlac)
- Clark (Pampanga) – San Jose (Nueva Ecija)
While the dates for the effectivity of the above new routes are still unknown as we publish this, it is nice to know that the DOTr already has these in the pipeline for 2018. Here’s hoping that these new P2P bus routes materialize soon.
