On June 8, a magnitude 7.8 earthquake devastated Mindanao in Sarangani and nearby areas. At least 45 lives were lost, hundreds were injured, and more than 25,000 residents had to be evacuated. In response to this disaster, Vingroup—specifically VinFast, V-Green, VinEnergo, and Green GSM—allocated a budget of more than P50 million for relief support.

Under this program, General Santos City and Sarangani Province will each receive P20 million, while Davao Occidental will get P10 million. Meanwhile, families who lost loved ones in the disaster will receive financial assistance of P100,000 for each fatality.

“The losses suffered by the people of Mindanao as a result of this earthquake are immense,” said Vingroup director of investment and external relations in the Philippines Dao Quy Phi. “During challenging times like this, we believe that the collective efforts of businesses and communities can help provide additional resources, hope, and encouragement for those affected. As Vietnamese companies with long-term investments and operations in the Philippines, we are committed to standing alongside local authorities and communities in the recovery process, supporting efforts to rebuild lives and strengthen affected communities.”

The relief program will be implemented throughout this month through close coordination with local authorities.
